Lord Mayor of Southampton

Last week, we had a very exciting visit from the Lord Mayor of Southampton - Jacqui Raymant, who came to help plant our Field Maple tree sapling in our story garden! This was part of the celebrations to commemorate the 800th Mayor of Southampton. Representatives from our School Council and the Eco Team celebrated the planting of the tree alongside the Mayor and a team of representatives from Balfour Beatty. We are very excited to watch the tree grow over the coming years!

Following the planting of the tree, our children enjoyed a very informative workshop with Jo Cleary, Environment Sustainability Manager. They learnt lots about trees and their role in helping to improve the environment. The children are excited to share their learning and experience with the rest of the school.
