Pip and Pap Year 2 Workshop

Year 2 parents and pupils enjoyed reading Pip and Pap Purple Phase Book 9, "The Opera Show" together today.

They looked at alternative pronunciations for graphemes they have already met, such as the letters 'ow' making the /oa/ sound in words like "show", and the letter 'y' making an /ee/ /igh/ or /I/ sound in words like "understudy", "try" and "lyrics".

They then answered questions about the story they had read and talked about the plot. In this story, Bea is too unwell to perform and withdraws from the performance. We talked about how it is important to look after our health and take time to recover if we are ill.

Then, parents and pupils made their own microphones so that they can perform their own shows at home!
