Year 2 Fire Service Visit Blog

Today, year two had an exciting visit from the fire service. We had a great time learning about the crucial role the fire service plays in keeping us safe. A key takeaway was the importance of checking smoke alarms weekly to ensure our homes are well-prepared for emergencies.

During the visit, we also learned rhymes that emphasised the significance of staying safe with matches and what to do if a fire occurs at home. One particularly enjoyable activity was a race between Miss White and Solly to put on fire fighting gear – with Solly emerging as the victor!

In addition to these fun activities, we gained insights into the importance of knowing our home address, a vital piece of information during emergencies. The fire service provided us with postcards to stick on the fridge, helping us memorise and recall this crucial detail.

Overall, it was an informative and engaging session that left a lasting impression on the importance of fire safety. We'll continue to apply these important lessons and stay vigilant in keeping our homes safe and secure.
