Year 2 blog:
Year 2 Get a Shocking Surprise from Their Stationery!
When Year 2 arrived at school this week, they couldn’t believe their eyes! Their classroom was in a complete mess – pencils were scattered everywhere, glue sticks had fallen over, and rulers were lying across the floor. Something strange had definitely happened...
After looking around carefully, the children discovered a letter left behind by none other than their stationery! The pens, pencils, rulers and glue sticks were all very upset because they felt they hadn’t been looked after properly.
The glue sticks complained that their lids kept being left off, which made them dry up and useless. The rulers were cross because they didn’t like being twanged on tables instead of used carefully. And the pencils were tired of being over-sharpened until they became too small to hold!
The stationery had one clear message for Year 2:
“Please look after us better!”
To help solve the problem, Year 2 are now going to write letters back to their stationery, saying sorry and promising to treat them more kindly in the future.
We are using the brilliant book The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt as our inspiration.
It’s going to be great fun – and we’re sure Year 2 will never forget to put the lids back on the glue again.
