Year 2 blog:

Yesterday, we said goodbye to the ducklings as they returned to the farm. It’s hard to believe how much they've grown, and we’ve truly cherished every moment we’ve had with them. Over the past week, we’ve not only enjoyed their playful antics and charming personalities, but we've also learned so much about the fascinating lifecycle of ducks.

From the moment they hatched, we’ve had the privilege of watching them grow and develop at an incredible pace. We witnessed the transformation from tiny, fluffy balls of fluff to confident, waddling little creatures. It was truly remarkable to see their personalities emerge—each one with its unique quirks and preferences. Some were more adventurous, while others were more content to stick together in their little group.

As they grew, we were able to observe how their instincts kicked in, from learning how to swim to foraging for food. Their curiosity and energy were contagious, and we couldn’t help but smile every time we saw them explore new parts of the yard or interact with one another.

Alongside the fun, we also had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the care and responsibility that goes into raising ducks. We learned about their dietary needs, the importance of keeping their living space clean, and the delicate balance of providing both stimulation and rest. It’s clear that ducks, like any other animal, require a lot of attention and love to thrive. As they head back to the farm, we’re comforted by the thought that they’ll continue to live their lives in a natural, spacious environment, and that we were lucky enough to be part of their journey, even if just for a short while.
