Blue Peter Book Club

Our Reading Ambassadors had a wonderful surprise today, a special parcel that arrived from Royal Mail, addressed to them! What was inside, I hear you ask?

Inside the box was a letter from author Terrie Chilvers, writer of our Blue Peter Book Club story "Michael the Amazing Mind Reading Sausage Dog!" Terrie had heard that we were enjoying sharing her story with the wider school so much, so she wrote us a letter!

Not only that, but she also sent us some gifts! There is a beautiful folded bookmark (in the shape of a sausage dog, of course) for every member of our Blue Peter Book Club! These have been hand folded by Terrie herself - we can't imagine how long it must have taken!

Our Reading Ambassadors are setting up some competitions to win some of the bookmarks too - watch this space!

We are loving the story so far - here are two reviews from our Reading Ambassadors.

Luna: "This book is really good and funny. The Key Stage 1 children that we read it to, come back and listen every time. I really liked it when Michael said he wanted to talk to the manager, it made me laugh so much!"

Jessica: "I highly recommend this book to dog lovers and to performing artists too. The book is also really funny and engaging for all year groups from Year 1 right through to Year 6. I really liked the chapter where 'Stanley Big Dog' was excited over a piece of toffee stuck on the floor boards and nearly ruined the show! "

All pupils are welcome to come along to our Blue Peter Book Club at lunchtimes, where our Reading Ambassadors share the story and activities together.
