Year 2 blog
Year two has been eggciting this week! We have had the arrival of duck eggs. The eggcitement peaked when, upon their arrival on Monday, we discovered that one had already hatched!
For the next 24 hours, this little duckling encouraged its yet-to-be-hatched companions, nestled safely in the warmth of the incubator. We eagerly watched as the eggs began to wiggle, signalling the imminent arrival of more ducklings.
Miss White, also known as duck mummy, wasted no time in providing a cozy sanctuary for the newly hatched duckling on Tuesday morning. It was promptly introduced to the Brooder cage, where it could eat and quench its thirst. Amidst the snug new home, we couldn't help but notice its spirited demeanour , leading us to suspect it might be a male. Indeed, the chirps and energetic flutters affirmed our suspicions – he is quite the vocal fellow!
As we eagerly await the arrival of more ducklings, we invite you to stay tuned for updates on their progress and, of course, their names. Exciting times lie ahead in our duckling adventures!
