Year 6 blog:

Year 6 enjoyed a visit to our local library at Lordshill. During the visit, the children had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the library and develop their understanding of how it is organised. They explored where different types of books could be found and learnt how to locate a specific book using an author's surname. The children also took part in a range of activities to help develop their confidence in using the library independently. It was a valuable opportunity to remind them of the wonderful resources available within their local community and how they can make the most of these both now and in the future. It was fantastic to see the children engaging with books, sharing their interests and taking time to enjoy reading for themselves. We hope the visit inspires them to continue visiting their local library and discovering the many adventures, ideas and opportunities that reading can offer!
