Pip and Pap Workshop Year 1:

Parents and pupils in Year 1 enjoyed reading Green Phase Book 3 "A Sport Lesson" together today, recapping the grapheme-phoneme correspondences:

'ay' pronounced /ai/, in words like "Sunday"

'ie' pronounced /igh/, in words like "flies"

'ue' pronounced /oo/, in words like "blue"

'ou' pronounced /ow/, in words like "cloud"

In the story, Pip and Pap can't go running in their PE lesson, as it's just too hot! But luckily, they have a swimming lesson to cool them all down! Pupils and parents read the story together and talked about the importance of sun safety. Then, they made their own swimming pictures together - aren't these rubber ring drawings fantastic?

We run Pip and Pap workshops every two weeks in Years R-2 - please ask your child's class teacher for more details!
