Year 2 blog:
Year 2 Fire Safety Workshop
Year 2 had a fantastic visit from the Fire Service's education team! We learned lots of important fire safety tips. Did you know you should test your smoke alarm every week and change the batteries regularly?
We also had great fun pretending to be firefighters while learning a catchy safety song. One of the rhymes we learned reminded us never to touch matches — a very important message!
Lena impressed everyone by confidently practising how to call 999 and giving her address perfectly. We were all given postcards to help us learn our own addresses in case we ever need to make an emergency call.
We also talked about hoax calls and how they can put lives at risk — everyone understood how serious that is.
To end the exciting workshop, Miss White even dressed up as a firefighter! It was a fun and memorable way to finish a very important lesson.
