Year 2 Phonics Workshop – The Supermarket:
Our Year 2 parents and carers enjoyed diving into The Supermarket today as part of our latest Parent and Pupil Phonics Workshop. Together, we revisited key Purple Phase sounds and explored how children use these skills to blend longer words and read with growing fluency.
In the story, Pip and Pap head off on a lively supermarket trip, spotting items and ticking off their shopping list along the way. Their activity for the session was to make a rollerskate, just like the ones featured in the book. The finished creations looked fantastic, and the children were delighted to share their reading and handiwork with their adults.
At Sinclair, we run Pip and Pap workshops in Weeks 2 and 5 for children in Years R–2. If you would like more information or would like to join a future session, please speak to the school office.
