Year R phonics blog:

A big thank you to all parents that attended this week's Parents Workshop.

We explored the story "Rat-a-tat-tat" and were introduced to two new characters, Pock and Puck, a pair of cheeky brothers who love to play pranks on each other. We follow Puck and his pet rat as they knock on different character's doors and run away. Children sat with their parents and made predictions about what will happen next in the story, decoding the words as they went.

Our craft this week was to make a door hanger to stop Puck from knocking on our door. The children made marks and wrote signs using the earth word NO to stop others knocking on their doors.
