Reading Charter Awards:

A Proud Moment for Sinclair!

We are delighted to celebrate another fantastic milestone in our reading journey at Sinclair Primary & Nursery School!

Over the last two years, we have proudly achieved the Bronze and Silver Southampton Reading Charter Awards, recognising our ongoing commitment to developing a love of reading across our school. Now, we are setting our sights on Gold!

This week, we were privileged to attend the Reading Charter Awards Ceremony at St Mary’s Stadium, where our children had the wonderful opportunity to listen to an inspiring talk from award-winning author M. G. Leonard, best known for her Beetle Boy series. To make the experience even more special, every child received their very own personally signed and dedicated copy of her book!

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, creativity and dedication of our staff and children, who work together to make reading an exciting and valued part of life at Sinclair. From our Reading Ambassadors and library volunteers to our welcoming school library and the many opportunities we create to share stories, we are passionate about helping every child discover the joy of reading.

Reading opens doors to new worlds, sparks imagination, builds confidence and helps our children grow into the architects of a better world.

Keep an eye out around school for our Bronze and Silver awards, celebrating everything we have achieved together so far. We look forward to continuing our reading journey and working towards Gold!

A huge well done to everyone at Sinclair - what a fantastic achievement!
