World Poetry Day blog:

Did you know that Saturday 21st March is World Poetry Day?

This week at Sinclair, we have been celebrating all things poetry in a variety of fun and creative ways. During our poetry-themed lunchtimes, Poets and Painters, children were encouraged to visit a poetry station to write their own poems and express their creativity. They also enjoyed taking part in games such as Poetry in Motion, where children moved to music and explored rhythm and expression.

We were also excited to judge our House Poetry Competition, where every child in the school wrote a poem all about spring. The standard was incredibly high, and it was wonderful to see such imagination and enthusiasm across the school.

Throughout the week, teachers shared a range of poems in their classrooms, inspiring children to develop a love of language, rhythm and performance.

What a fantastic week celebrating poetry at Sinclair!
