Poetry day blog:

Did you know that today is National Poetry Day? 

The children at Sinclair have been celebrating by putting their oracy skills into action! Each class was challenged to work together to write a poem to share in our Celebration Assembly.

Some classes explored this year’s theme of ‘Wonder’, while others chose themes linked to their House Teams, autumn and reading, helping us to celebrate the National Year of Reading too. 

It was wonderful to hear the children sharing their poems confidently in assembly, using their voices, expression and performance skills to bring their words to life. 

Poetry didn’t stop at assembly either! Throughout the day, children enjoyed sharing and listening to poems in their classrooms, making poetry a special part of our day.
