National Reading Champions Quiz
What a fantastic reading adventure for our Year 6 Reading Ambassadors!
As part of our celebrations for the National Year of Reading, Lily, Maia, Lara and Andrea represented Sinclair in the Junior National Reading Champions Quiz – South Heat. The team joined schools from across the South of England, including schools from Chichester and Portsmouth, for an exciting morning of challenging reading rounds.
It was especially lovely to see two of our partnership schools, Holy Family and Our Lady St Joseph’s, taking part too. Some of the children had met before at last year’s Hampshire Reading Championships, so it was wonderful to see familiar faces again and celebrate our shared love of reading.
Our Reading Ambassadors worked brilliantly as a team, putting their knowledge of books, authors, characters and stories to the test. There were plenty of tricky questions, but they showed fantastic teamwork, determination and enthusiasm throughout.
A huge well done to Lily, Maia, Lara and Andrea for representing Sinclair so brilliantly. Although we didn't take the top spot this time, we are incredibly proud of everything they achieved.
A special congratulations to Our Lady St Joseph’s, who came second in the heat – what a fantastic achievement!
The quiz was a wonderful reminder of what the National Year of Reading is all about: bringing children together through a shared love of books, stories and reading.
