Pyjamas and Pages Event

Pyjamas and Pages Event

We are delighted to inform parents that Sinclair raised £266.50 for Children's Hospital Pyjamas as part of our 'Pyjamas and Pages' event, with £58.88 gift aid - a grand total of £325.38!

As part of the day, pupils and teachers came to school in their pyjamas, and listened to special 'bedtime stories' chosen by teachers in each classroom, celebrating our love of reading, whilst also raising money for a great cause! Each child signed up for three story sessions throughout the day, not knowing who the mystery teacher delivering the story was! Stories included "Ug" by Raymond Briggs, "The Little Blue Slipper" (an Irish Cinderella story) by Jude Daly, "Barbara Throws a Wobbler" by Nadia Shereen, "The Monkey and the Panda" by Antonia Barber and "The King's Pants" by Nicholas Allan!

All monies raised have been shared with Children's Hospital Pyjamas - a UK-based charity which collects donations of brand new pyjamas for children, donating them to hospitals, hospices and women’s refuges across the UK. Sinclair's donation (alongside those from our other partnership schools) will ensure comfort is brought to children during some of the most challenging times of their lives, reminding families that they are not alone. Thank you for your continued generosity and support.

Here's what Year 3 had to say to Mr Walker about the event - it speaks for all of our children, who enjoyed such an exciting day! We will be speaking to the Southampton Library Service about stocking these books in our library.

"Hello Mr Walker ! We have had the best day today. Wearing our pyjamas to school was fun and cosy. Today was the perfect day for it because it was rainy and we could get nice and comfortable. We have enjoyed hearing lots of different stories and it has been lovely to share our favourites with each other. In particular, we loved the Llama Destroys The World, Fox in Socks, The Monkey and The Panda and The King's Pants book. We would really like to have access to more of these books at school. Can they please be put on display? Everyone in our class would like to do something like this again!"
