Year 2 Phonics Workshop: The Hockey Match! 

Year 2 had a fantastic time at their first Pip & Pap Phonics Workshop!

The children enjoyed reading The Hockey Match, a fun story from the Purple Phase. The book gave the children lots of opportunities to practise reading alternative pronunciations of the vowel sounds a, e, i, o and u, helping them to develop their confidence with these more challenging phonics patterns.

The children also loved the creative part of the workshop, making their very own clocks! They worked carefully on their designs and the finished clocks looked fantastic.

It was a brilliant first workshop, combining phonics, reading, creativity and fun. Well done, Year 2!
