Year 6 Devon Adventure:
Day 3 of the trip began with another opportunity to climb. The children showed great balance, strength and decision making as they ascended two different climbing walls. Miss Keen was on hand to take a multitude of impressive bird’s eye view photos as the climbers reached the top. Furthermore, they combined our 3 school rules of ready, respectful and safe to fulfil the roles of anchor and belay to hold the guide ropes in place.
The afternoon held, in most children’s opinion, the highlight of the trip so far: surfing. After carefully carrying their boards to the seafront, they pressed their way through the waves to find a place to set themselves ready for the ideal wave. As they broke under them, they were rapidly propelled towards the beach- many even managed to stand!
D-I-S-C-O was the evening entertainment, well for a bit anyway, as the group then decided whether they wanted to watch the England football game or spend time conversing about the day’s events.
